Full course description

For families who experience the incredible pain of losing a child, grief is a chronic dynamic, beginning at diagnosis and extending well beyond the time of the child’s death. Since individuals grieve differently, and the death of a child has a ripple effect across the family, bereavement needs must be individually assessed, and interventions tailored accordingly. Siblings and other children have unique bereavement needs, which much be assessed and addressed according to developmental age. Perceptions about legacy are unique and may differ within the family unit, with differences sometimes demonstrated between parents, children, and siblings of the child who is ill.
